The video transfer process enables users to take any video file and transpose it into another medium. Taping a show onto a video cassette is one example of this, although this has now become rather uncommon. Personal video recorder machines have revolutionized how television shows are now taped. Instead of having to amass an immense collection of cassettes to tape a show, one electronic recorder can tape an entire series. These recorders have become so popular that they are now included free of charge in most cable packages. This allows viewers who have fulltime jobs to still be able to watch their shows even if there are away from their television. Some recorders are so advanced that they do wirelessly video transfer to the viewer’s smart phone, adding another layer of portability to the experience.

Another example of how technology has revolutionized video viewing is DVD copying. People used to have to worry about letting their children use their DVDs or lending them out to friends. Luckily, it is now relatively easy to copy a DVD. All that is required is a DVD burner and the correct software. The usual process includes the user placing the original DVD in the drive and then telling the software to make a copy. Halfway through the process, they take out the original and put in a blank DVD. This becomes even easier if they have two DVD burners. With two burners, the user places the original in one and a blank in the other. With technology this easy, it is no surprise that anyone, regardless of age or experience, can copy a DVD. It should be noted that making these copies is only legal on DVDs owned by the user. Copyright law allows for one backup copy to be made.

Posted in Decoration

An oil painting is a work of art that can be hung on the wall or above the mantle or set on a large easel in the corner of the room. A small easel can sit on table or shelf. An oil painting can set the tone for the entire room. When renovating the front room or office, when repainting a bedroom wall, why not get an oil painting that will add a new touch of charm to decorate the space?

Choose the painting for the colours and theme of the room, or find a painting before deciding what colours to use in the room and colour coordinate with the chosen oil painting. A very good way to promote culture and art is to display an oil on the wall of the home or office. Subjects can vary from still life, to busy city streets, from a single flower to wooded landscape with snow on the ground. There are animals and portraits, music and transportation. An oil painting can be chosen to fit the function of the room as well.

Whether there is a bare wall that needs something or a room with decor that begs an update, an oil painting can enliven the scene. If desired, an especial custom piece can be painted according to particular specifications. An oil painting can blend with colours or contrast with them for a bolder statement. For any taste and any room, there is an oil painting that will initiate the desired atmosphere.

We’d like to thank Mr Mark Paton on this great article.

Thankfully, there are things you can do to ensure that your family and friends have a true gem to watch for generations to come.

You can prepare yourself for making a great home video by making sure you are familiar with the operation of your camcorder including the main controls you will commonly use. Flip through the manual and then practice filming if you have never done so before.

When the moment comes that you find yourself frantically trying to capture that perfect moment, calm yourself and begin filming. Take notice of the surroundings including lighting and external noises. If possible, try to create a good setting for filming. Since you’re familiar with your camera, decide if there are any settings that could be changed to enhance the shot given the conditions. Generally speaking, the eyepiece will give you a much better view of what you’re filming than the flip screen, so use this when adjusting settings.

As you film, try to hold every shot for at least ten seconds. It might feel unnatural at first, but when you watch the footage back, you’ll thank yourself. It’s much more engaging to be able to watch people’s expressions and get a feel for the surroundings than to be bombarded with rapid fire sequences of quick moving shots with seemingly no connection. A carefully-filmed home video retells the story of the moment for generations.

Posted in DVD

Preparing clips from a DVD to upload to YouTube is really just a matter of downloading and installing the proper software, setting it up correctly, and learning how to use it. There really is no complicated set of instructions or exact program that must be used to accomplish this — any DVD to AVI software will do the job.

The main goal when extracting something from a DVD in order to place on YouTube is to get the clip or file into the AVI (audio video interleaved) format. This can be accomplished by using any one of the myriad of programs available that are designed to do exactly this.

The AVI file should be in 320×240 resolution as this is the format that YouTube will generally perform best with. Most programs will ask you which codec you would like to use when converting your file, and you will probably find that the XVID format works best when it comes to YouTube videos. This format generally provides a consistently high quality AVI file. Other settings within DVD to AVI programs may include such things as video frame rate and bitrate as well as audio options. Most of the video options can be left at their default settings with most programs, though it may be a good idea to check the program documentation to be sure. Audio should be recorded in MP3 format at a bitrate of at least 128kbps as anything lower will be of very poor quality. 128kbps is about the same sound quality as modern FM radio. Higher audio bitrate will result in better quality audio, but will also increase the file size.

The completed file, in order to be uploaded to YouTube, must be less than 10 minutes long and no larger than 100MB. After the file is created, simply go to YouTube.com, click “upload videos”, fill out as much information as you can, then browse to the file on your hard drive and click the “upload video” button.
